Garni Hostatt Hotel Review, Switzerland

We have known the hotel for several years and as such have stayed here several times. The location I am writing about is located in the town of Engelberg at an altitude of approx. 1000 m.

It is the area of Switzerland where the German language is spoken. During the summer, it is off-season here and as such there are very few tourists, mostly elderly and foreigners brought by buses from Milan airport.

The Garni Hostatt Hotel is located on the edge of the resort in a beautiful natural setting. From the balcony as well as from the room I had a wonderful view. The rooms are simple without luxury, but super clean. Bathrooms (we had two rooms) useful, only with shower, but picobello clean.

The hotel is self-catering, so it does not have a restaurant. Only breakfast is served. Instead, there is a small kitchen available to customers where there are also some drinks for a fee. The breakfast is simple, nothing like the all-inclusive offers in Turkey or Bulgaria.

There is free covered parking.

For those with tighter finances, I recommend the coop store in the center of the resort, where upstairs is a very clean restaurant (pushes the tray), with good food at acceptable prices. Down in the store you can stock up on other goods and food. In my opinion and impression, Swiss products are of very high quality.

The hotel appears on Booking, but those who know German or English (possibly also French) recommend making a telephone reservation with the lady who runs the hotel. I say this because, especially in the off-season, you can benefit from some discounts.
